There are also several different barrier options, the most common being EVOH, which has a stronger barrier function than previous monolayer PE tubes.

Aluminum tubes

Aluminum or metal tubes are known to offer the best barrier protection for your formula. Also known as collapsible tubes, they can be used with the most aggressive or delicate formulas. In general, aluminum tubes provide better protection than plastic compression tubes due to their heavy gauge material. They also offer an aesthetic that many branded product lines prefer over plastic. The metallic look can now come in a variety of colors to enhance or completely cover the aluminum. Collapsible tubes supplement cleansers, lotions and ointments with active ingredients. Please note that when evacuating metal tubes, the tube body may take on a new worn shape and have little or no recovery from dispensing in use.
